Irish boyband Westlife could one day reunite, according to Brian McFadden.
The 33-year-old singer, who was in the original line-up of the group, said that while there is no discussions about it at present, they would not rule it out in the future.
McFadden broke the hearts of fans when he left Westlife in 2004 but the band continued on as a four-piece with Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan.
They bowed out of the pop world with a concert in Dublin‘s Croke Park in the summer of 2012 after a career in which they amassed 14 UK number one singles.
The band racked up 44 million record sales, sung with diva Mariah Carey and even performed for the Pope.
When asked if a reunion was ever likely to happen, McFadden said: “One day we could do something together. There’s not even talk of it.
“At the moment all of us are concentrating on our lives and our solo careers. There’s no talk of it.
“But it’s not something we’d ever say ‘No, it’s never going to happen’. You never know. One day it could, but it’s not being talked about yet.”
The musician – who is married to Irish DJ and model Vogue Williams – said that while he might find it a “weird experience”, it is one they would all probably relish.
“I think we would probably enjoy it. I haven’t been a part of the band for over ten years now, so I think it’d be a bit strange for me because the last time I was with them they were all kids, and now they’re all men, and they’ve all got their own almost grown up kids as well, so it’d be different.
“It’d be very different. It’d be a weird experience,” he said.
Since the band members went their separate ways they have pursued solo careers and appeared on television.
While Byrne competed on the UK show Strictly Come Dancing, McFadden was a judge on Australia’s Got Talent alongside Kyle Sandilands and Dannii Minogue from 2010 to 2012.
